Wear your vyshyvanka and walk with the Toronto Ukrainian community down Bloor Street West. The walk marks Vyshyvanka Day and stands in solidarity with the cultural and human heritage of Ukraine under threat from Russia's war.

Why this walk

The embroidered shirt — the vyshyvanka — is a 1,000-year-old marker of Ukrainian identity. Every village, every region has its own patterns. Every stitch is a story. Russian missiles aim to erase those stories. We walk so they don't.

What to bring

• Your vyshyvanka (any pattern, any era, any region)
• A flag if you have one
• Friends, family, neighbours — all welcome

Route

Starting at Jane subway station, walking east along Bloor to High Park Avenue and ending at the Lesya Ukrainka monument in High Park.
